Infinity is a 28mm skirmish game produced by the Spanish company Corvus Belli that has steadily been building momentum. As it approaches its third edition, N3, which launches at the end of the year, a new starter set, Operation:Icestorm has been launched. For this two part article, Corehammer’s Infinity “veteran” Daniel Duggan, and greenhorn OC talk about their experiences and thoughts with this new boxset and the game as a whole.

Battle Mats #1 – Deep Cut Studios
It’s been a long time since bases were all painted Goblin Green and you played your games on a slice of green felt rolled out on your dining table, things have moved on. Quite a bit.
Painting an Emperor’s Children Fellblade Part 1
Following on from my last article, I thought I’d do a tutorial on how I went about painting the Fellblade. There aren’t many, if any, about for Emperor’s Children vehicles, so this might come in handy for someone painting up any kind of vehicle in 3rd Legion livery.
Forge World Fellblade Assembly & Associated Problems
I wasn’t going to do this article, but to be fair, having scoured the internet for help when I began this project, there was absolutely nothing of any help bar this one post, which to be fair, helped me out so cheers to the guy who wrote it. You can find it here for reference. The project in question was to build and paint an Emperor’s Children Fellblade. Something no one bar Forge World have done, or at least, posted on-line about it it seems. There’s a few weird conversions using Baneblades, but to be fair, given the £160 price tag, I can see why people might swerve the kit. Having built one, I can also see why people might swerve it, as it was less a kit, more a prolonged exercise in problem solving. Hence this article, to help you along the way if you do decide to go down the route of a Forge World super heavy.
Workbench Organisation Part 1 – Dropper Bottles
As your paint collection grows, space becomes a premium, I’m sure a lot of readers will have found this, especially when concerning those chubby little Citadel pots. I’d previously been using a stacking system from www.hobbyzone.pl and a fine paint rack it is. Solid laser-cut MDF, you can read Tony’s review of it here.
Raging Heroes – Kapitan Ivanka Kurganova Review
Good looking girls with guns, its that old cliché for the non functioning gamer isn’t it? But I’ll be honest, having grown up on Japanese monster movies and Anime from an early age, I still reckon they’re boss, and no one does it better than the Japanese.
Soda Pop do some good Anime style female models with mechs, giant robots are awesome right? Whats more awesome? Giant robots with hot girls! But recently I’ve been debating some models from the Raging Heroes range. Continue reading
A Song Of Ice and Fire – Micro Art Studio Bases
2014 sees the beginning of a new army for me, an entirely new army I’ve never had a crack at before, one that will push my limits in both painting and modelling.
I’ll be doing Vostroyan First Born Infantry, Vostroyan Armoured, and Imperial Navy Airborne sections of an Imperial Guard army, all correctly organised. To add an extra dimension and longevity, I’ve not decided on the regiments yet, but they’ll all have nicknames, along the lines of the Vostroyan 9th the Old Irascibles, and all the vehicles will be named and have the correct numbers and decals on them. This will be a true labour of love.
PuppetsWar: Barghest Fiends review
PuppetsWar are for some a company that will need no introduction. Which is good because outside of being based out of Warsaw, Poland and knocking around since early 2010 they give little away on their website and simply let their product do the talking. No frills, just “this is what we do”.
For those not familiar you’ll find the usual fair of GW compatible weapons and accessories through to alternate troops, bikes and tanks with thinly disguised names that will crack a smile, including shoulder pads for “Planet Devourers” and Emperors “Demon’s Children” or a certain flyer named “Thunder Crow”. I’ve certainly been tempted to pick up some bits to make a start on some Thousand Sons, but it’s one of their recent releases that tempted me to take the plunge.
May I present the Barghest Fiends:
Games Workshop Arcane Ruins Review
Terrain, unlike hardcore bands, only has to look the part, it does not matter that when you look at it in great detail it’s clearly plasticine hollow. However, like all of the bands you covet you want them to retain some integrity and a not fall apart after a few outings.
With the the general theme of this blog being the music we love and my particular interest in terrain (or as I like to see it, world building), I thought My first piece should be a review a new and indeed very metal looking (although it’s clearly plastic) addition to my collection, the Games Workshop Arcane Ruins.
